The Winter Hawk Walk

1hr (2024/5 Season)

The Hawk Walk

Perfect for winter! Get out and reconnect with nature as you enjoy our hands-on hawk walk.

Firstly, a brief safety talk on what to expect and how we call a hawk back to the glove.

Then it's gloves on as we begin our walk with one of these super-intelligent raptors, which actually hunt in packs, so be prepared to become part of the pack!

With a small titbit and a raised glove the hawk will soar to you.

Giving you plenty of photo opportunities as we walk around the countryside. During our stroll, we will be able to observe natural behaviour, and we will explain what he is doing and why he is doing it.

You will be amazed by their superpowers!

Start your journey to understanding birds of prey.

The Raptor Experience

1½hr (New For Spring / Summer 2025)

In this experience, you get to fly a variety of raptors, generally at least three different species from hawks, barn owls, long-eared owls, tawny owls, or a falcon.

All these birds are free-flying, in their natural environment over meadows and farmland so that you can observe their natural behaviour.

Barn Owl

The iconic barn owl flits above a meadow - like an apparition.

Long-Eared Owl

Then the elusive long-eared owl, with the most fantastic camouflage, a stronger wingbeat than the barn owl, and the ability to fly in more challenging conditions. Their eyes are orange, and their faces can change shape.

Bay Winged Hawk

The bay winged hawk, a very clever raptor! Think Jurassic World. This bird hunts in packs; be prepared to become part of the pack.

Tawny Owl

The tawny owl is the one we think of making the classic "twit-twoo" sounds, but how often do you get to see them? Well, get ready to get close to this dark-eyed lovely and fall in love with this wonderful owl.

Gyrfalcon

The largest falcon in the world. A transient visitor to Britain. Once upon a time Gyrfalcons's were for Emperoros and Kings.

Lanner Falcon

The Lanner Falcon is a sleek, agile hunter known for its speed and strategic hunting. At Cornwall Falconry, witness its aerial mastery up close.

This is Makeda our 18yr old Lanner Falcon. She has been with us all her life and is now enjoying a slower life on the farm.

I cannot recommend a falconry experience with Cornwall Falconry highly enough. It is such a special and unique experience and one I will never forget Watching the birds flying free in their natural habitat is truly amazing, and so special when they fly and land on your hand. Gerrard the falconry is so knowledgeable and I learnt so many interesting facts about the birds from him, he is truly inspiring and has such a special bond with birds.
